At the Lincoln EITC Coalition, we are committed to providing learning opportunities to the Lincoln community. Through a variety of seminars, educational materials and community partnerships, our goal is to provide resources for hard working Lincoln families to increase their financial literacy.

What is Financial Literacy?

For the Lincoln EITC Coalition, financial literacy is all about understanding your options, so that you can make the best choice for your financial security. Through our seminars, community members can gain skills and knowledge about maintaining their own finances and develop connections with community partners who are invested in the financial success of Lincoln families.

What courses are offered?

We provide 7 seminars on different aspects of financial literacy. They are:

 

Banking Basics: Are you new to the United States? Banking can be very different in another country. Banking Basics covers important information for people new to the US.

Savings & Budgeting: Are saving and budgeting a challenge? Learn how to set and meet savings goals, create and stick to a budget, all to give you financial peace of mind.

Credit Basics: Have credit questions? Learn about the importance of good credit, how credit works, and how to manage your credit.

Payday Lending: Need help escaping a Payday Lender? Learn more about Payday Lending, what your options are, and how to escape the Payday Lending cycle.

Identity Theft: Concerned about identity theft? Learn how it happens, how to avoid it, and what to do if you’re a victim of identity theft.

Affordable Care Act: Stressed about healthcare? Affordable Care Act covers the basics of ACA, how it works, how to sign up for health care, etc.

Preparing for Your Tax Prep: Getting ready for tax season? Tax Prep Readiness covers how to get ready for tax season, choosing a preparer, and more.
